Along with insurance for autos and recreational vehicles (snowmobiles, ATVs, RVs, scooters, motorcycles, camping trailers and boats), The Personal Insurance offers a variety of coverage options for individuals. To qualify for coverage with The Personal Insurance, you need to be a member of an insured group. You can check online to see if your employer, university, retiree organization, union, or alumni or professional association has an agreement for coverage.
Home insurance: Policies cover most types of accidental damage and liability, with optional add-ons for certain kinds of water damage (snow and rain, floods, sewer backups, etc.) and earthquakes. You can also add coverage for pools and hot tubs, to protect your home against theft or vandalism while it’s under construction, or for home-based businesses and short-term rentals.
Condo insurance: Covers your unit, your belongings and personal liability. Optional coverages similar to The Personal’s home insurance offerings.
Renter insurance: Standard coverage for liability and personal items in your unit, with optional add-ons that mirror home and condo offerings. You can opt to extend coverage for your belongings when they’re temporarily outside your rental unit, to cover you in case of lost luggage while traveling, for example.
Pet insurance: Coverage for your dog or cat in case of illness or injury, with Bronze, Silver and Gold tiered policy tiers and optional coverage for alternative and behavioural therapy and medical devices. All policies include dental coverage, and the Gold plan also covers preventive care.
Travel insurance: À la carte coverage options for emergency medical costs and return travel, accidents, trip cancellation and interruption and lost baggage. Choose from short-term and multi-trip annual policies for individuals and families.
